ABOUT ME
I'm Klay Benvenuto, an italian graphic designer and illustrator bouncing between Turin and Bolzano.
I come from videogame interior design, which taught me that space, structure, and empty space are never accidental. I carried that into illustration and design.
My work lives mostly in black and white. Not because I'm afraid of colour, but because I think it should mean something when it shows up. I'm more interested in form than decoration, in the subject than the surface. My characters tend to be geometric, slightly ironic, completely serious about whatever absurd situation they're in.
I currently work as a freelancer and collaborate with collectives, like GRUNAAD, while continuing to build my practice and studies to expand my knowledge in graphic design, as I believe good work requires both doing and learning.
When I'm not at the desk, I'm at the barre somewhere. I'm a semi-professional ballet dancer, which probably explains all the twisted arms and legs.
By the way, Minecraft counts as research.
I've decided.
